Undergraduate Students: Internal and External Transfer Candidates
The following policies apply to all transfer candidates upon entering the department.

Internal transfer candidates (Exploratory Studies or change of major) who desire admission to the Department of Early and Middle Grades Education may apply after the completion of 12 semester hours and a 2.9 GPA at West Chester University. Students should refer to the Department of Early and Middle Grades Transfer Advising information posted outside Recitation Hall, Room 106.

External transfer candidates who desire admission to the Department of Early and Middle Grades must apply for admission to West Chester University through Undergraduate Admissions. Accepted students will be directed to contact the Department of Early and Middle Grades Education to schedule a transfer appointment following admission to WCU.

Both internal and external transfer candidates will be admitted as probationary teacher education candidates consistent with teacher education policy. Candidates in this category may not take designated advanced professional course work, which requires full admittance to teacher education (Formal Admission status).
