The Women's & Gender Studies Honor Society

The purpose of this organization shall be to encourage, support, and recognize scholarship and excellence in Women’s and Gender Studies at West Chester University, as well as foster community among organizations with shared objectives at West Chester University in addition to the greater feminist community.

The organization strives to maintain intersectional feminist values central to Women’s and Gender Studies: egalitarianism, inclusiveness, coalition, the celebration of the diversity of all experiences, and centering the voices of historically marginalized communities.

The Women’s and Gender Studies Honor Society will not discriminate against individuals of any age, body size, citizenship, disability, ethnicity, familial status, gender expression, height, marital status, military status, national origin, political affiliation, race, religion, sexual/gender identity, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.

Eligibility

To be a member​ in good standing, you must:

  1. Have an overall GPA of 3.0
  2. Have a GPA of 3.5 in your Women's & Gender Studies coursework
  3. Have taken (or are currently enrolled in) at least 6-credit hours of WGS coursework
