ROOMIES

A roommate is a big part of your WCU experience. Roommates allow you to understand the differences of another person, offer social support, foster tolerance and respect, and make the most of living in the residence halls.

At WCU, you can select a roommate(s), search for a roommate(s), or have a roommate(s) assigned to you.

For incoming first-year students, roommate selection takes place between April and June each year.

Selecting a Roommate

Already have a roommate(s) in mind? You can request to live with another student (yes--even as a first year student!) or elect your preferred roommate(s) through your resident portal:

WCU Managed residences:
Roommate Matching is accessible in the MyHousing Portal between April 3, 2024 and June 3, 2024:

- Log in to RamPortal
- Select the MyWCU tile
- Select the "Personal Info" tile OR the "MyHousing" tile
- Click on "MyHousing" → "Go to MyHousing"
- Click on Housing Information
- Click on Select Roommates
- Change the Term to Fall 2024

USH Affiliated residences:
Roommate selection is accessible in early May in the USH Resident Portal

Search for a roommate & roommate matching

Looking for a roommate(s)? WCU Managed and USH offer roommate search and roommate matching programs that allow students to fill out a bio, answer a questionnaire, and connect with other students.

WCU Managed residences:
Roommate Matching is accessible in the MyHousing Portal between April 3, 2024 and June 3, 2024:

- Log in to RamPortal

Assigned Roommate(s)

Roommate matching/selection is recommended, but not required. If you do not match/select a roommate(s), a roommate(s) will be assigned to you.
