Scholarship Opportunities for Political Science Students

Department

  • Dr. Thomas Brady Scholarship: The recipient must be of junior or senior status and have a minimum 3.0 grade point average.
  • John & Louise Shea Prize in International Relations: The scholarship is awarded to the top applicant in the International Relations track. 
  • Honorable Roy Reinard Scholarship: Awarded to top sophomore applicant with financial need.  
  • Adam Swope Award for Public Service and Civic Engagement: The student must demonstrate a sustained commitment to service to the public community (defined as either University/campus service and/or external constituencies such as public agencies, government, non-profits, and elected officials). Students must have completed a minimum of 75 credits, have a minimum GPA of 3.25, complete a short essay (one-page, single space maximum) detailing their public service commitment to the campus and community, and submit one letter of recommendation from anyone with direct knowledge of the student’s service record. 
  • Frauke Schnell Award: This scholarship is designated for a student whose scholarship and/or leadership on campus or in local community organizations promotes feminist ideals, gender equality and/or women's rights
  • Top Senior Award: This award is presented to a rising senior who has achieved the highest GPA in the Department of Political Science.
  • Top Junior Award This award is presented to a rising junior who has achieved the highest GPA in the Department of Political Science.

College Wide:

  • D.T. Marrone Scholarship- Law School, $1,000, administered by Dr. Sandra Tomkowic, Pre Law Advisor - April dates.
  • Lewis Marshall - planning/policy focus; internship within township or Chester County government, administered by Dr. Dottie Ives Dewey in Geography, nominate someone in November/December of each year.

University Wide

  • Competitively selected each year (2 students, one per semester); Stipend each semester that nearly covers all tuition and room/board.
