Bio
Dr. Vickie Ann McCoy received her Ph.D. from the University of Southern Mississippi where she worked in the Center for Disability Studies. Prior to these experiences, she spent many years as the Coordinator for Counseling and Testing Services for Students with Disabilities at Monmouth University. McCoy's presentation and research interests are in Positive Psychology, Disability Studies & Service Provision, advocacy for the LGBTQ community and other non-traditional students in Higher Education settings. She regularly teaches Human Exceptionality for Counselors, Higher Education Counseling/Student Affairs Practicum and Internship, Orientation to Counseling, and, less frequently, other courses as needed such as Fundamentals of the Helping Relationship, Theories, Group Dynamics, Career Development, and Human Development.
