Research and Creative Activities Day 2025 Application

Thank you for your interest in participating in the Spring 2025 Research and Creative Activities Day! Please fill out the application below. *NOTE: Poster and Oral presentations with Faculty members as a presenter/co-presenter will NOT be judged/eligible for an award.

Research Day is FRIDAY, APRIL 4th, 2025 in Sykes Student Union.

Posters will be capped at 50 and Oral presentations at 30.

Presentation Information

Please make sure you have filled in all required fields with valid information.

Format:

Poster Presentation (all posters need to be printed by the participant - through the WCU Library or an outside source. Presenters must be present during their assigned presentation time). You will need to be available from 9:30am-11:00am.
Oral Presentation (presenters will have 15 minutes to discuss their project, including a 5-minute question and answer period. The 15-minute duration for each presentation will be strictly enforced). You will need to be available from (Students: 12:00pm-1:00pm, Faculty: 1:00pm-2:00pm).
Performance (Performances should be no more than 15 minutes long with an additional 5 minutes for the performer(s) to respond to questions. The 15-minute duration for each performance will be strictly enforced). You will need to be available from 11:30am-12:00pm.
Work of Art (Works of Art must be submitted to the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs prior to RCAD. The artists must be available to discuss the work and respond to questions during the Research and Creative Activity Day poster session). You will need to be available from 11:30am-12:00pm.

Brief abstract of the presentation, performance or work of art. The abstract usually includes the purpose/vision, methods/design and outcomes/implications. The abstract may not exceed 250 words. The abstract will be included in the electronic Research and Creative Activity abstract book AS IS and cannot be edited. Please review before adding.

In order for you to submit and present at Research and Creative Activities Day, you must confirm that your Faculty Mentor reviewed your abstract prior to submission and is aware they are listed as your Faculty Mentor.
