Biography

My primary research interests include malingering, specifically performance validity testing and methodological innovations to understudied research domains with an emphasis on research design and statistical methodology. My current research entails the development of a new measure to detect cognitive malingering. The accurate detection of malingering on cognitive measures designed to assess the need for services, care, and financial compensation impacts both would-be malingerers and those potentially incorrectly identified as malingerers that need such services. With the known issues regarding previously developed malingering measures (performance validity tests), a new measure is needed to better ascertain memory malingering. An important aspect of my research entails the inclusion of both undergraduate and graduate students. I endeavor to provide opportunities to become involved in multiple aspects of the research process in my lab.
